When I started Lineagewear, I really wanted to use it as a tool for doing good in the world. I've seen other brands donate to causes before- but so many just offer up token amounts. To that, I say, go big or go home! In 2015, Lineagewear definitely went BIG!
In May, our Peacock Restock orders raised over $2000 for NEDA. I chose NEDA partially because Lineagewear is a body positive company. I also chose it because I was saddened and disturbed by many "fitspo" images on social media that are tagged "pro ana" as well. Fit is okay. Eating disorders are not. I hope our donation makes a difference in the lives of people struggling with an eating disorder.
In July, we once again partnered with our favorite local charity, Bend to Mend. Last year, Lineagewear and Bend to Mend raised $1500 for inner city, food insecure families. Our goal this year was to beat that, and beat it we did! We raised $2100! It feels good knowing that we helped put food on the plates of people in our neighborhood.
And finally, May 5th (Cinco de Cycle) we partnered with Elvis Duran and the Morning Show to raise money for Project Fit America. Project Fit America is an amazing program that brings lifelong fitness habits into the lives of school aged children across the country. We knew this would be a big event, but it blew our expectations out of the water. Together we raised over $14,000! Incredible!
Lineagewear has some exciting ideas for upcoming fundraisers next year. Have an idea for a charity to support? Drop us a line and let us know!
